I have seldom encountered an individual who possessed so many wonderful qualities, skills, and abilities. She was that kind of lady. Shortly after that introduction to sewing, I found Sewing with Nancy on PBS. I have many of her books and they have been a tremendous blessing. I am thrilled at her perseverance to plan for the team to carry on her legacy. I never got to meet Nancy in person but like so many others I watched and rewatched her shows and felt that I knew her. When I got my embroidery machine, there was Nancy giving all kinds of info to follow. Her easy to follow directions made every sewer feel like they could accomplish any project. Im just about finished her first book. I probably will never upgrade because I dont want to let it go. I cried and told my pool mates that I felt my best friend was gone. She was 64. Thank you for continuing with the Best of Sewing with Nancy. She started her early years selling and teaching in an area where I grew up, so I felt a bit of kinship to her early days. I used to live in WI and visited her Beaver Dam store many times. I learned to sew with Nancy. I learned many things, and loved her genuine style on TV. I recently read Nancys autobiography, and had to go to great lengths to get her book. I imagine her teaching the Angels how to sew new gowns. What a special gift she shared with us. I met her one time years ago and she was very friendly. [1] She was the daughter of Ralph and Barbara Luedtke. Even when I am sewing, I would think to myself What would Nancy do? I miss Nancy. What an amazing legacy that she has inspired and impacted so many lives in such a positive way.
